One year celebration

It’s been one year since the Standard Neighbourhood Grill and Bar was opened by new owner operator Peter Pan and his friend Yvonne Ouellet. Picking up and moving across the country from Quebec with his daughters Diana and Angelina, who both attend Standard school, has been an adjustment and an adventure to say the least.
Pan made significant changes to the hotel and bar establishment through his Asian fusion food and through renovations to the business itself. The bar now boasts patio dining and a family-friendly space for patrons to bring children into the restaurant without having them interact with the bar.
On Saturday, September 28, Pan will be bringing in live entertainment for the anniversary event. “A Girl Named Jake”, Jacqueline Marcelle, a local music artist hailing from the Drumheller area, will perform three or four sets of music. “She’s an original! Known for her eclectic mix of musical genres and alternative rock twist to the piano-vocal scene, this soulful singer-songwriter’s voice will sweet talk your soul one moment and sweep you into a sultry affair the next. Her rich vocals, storytelling, passion and personal journey have captivated and inspired audiences around the world.”, boasts her website.
Pan hopes to continue a business relationship with “Jake” after the anniversary and bring her in to perform on a more regular basis.
The live entertainment will begin after 6 p.m. with “hors d’oeuvres and creative new-age liquor drinks”, says Pan who continues with “I am happy to call Standard home and look forward to celebrating with patrons on Saturday”.
