Calling all volunteers!

The Strathmore 2015 Alberta 55 Plus Summer Games would like to invite eager members of the community to become involved in the Summer Games, taking place July 16-19. We still have numerous opportunities for volunteer support and any help is appreciated!
We are expecting 1,400 participants and guests in Strathmore for the games for whom we must provide accommodation and food service. We ask any individuals/families who could act as a host billet for participants to contact our office, as we are in need of 200 billets, and currently only have 49! All meals are provided for our guests at the Food Centre so hosts would only have to provide a bed.
The Food Centre is located at the Strathmore Civic Centre and the High School Gym. Any individuals or groups interested in helping with one or more shifts in food preparation, food service, or cleanup during the meals are encouraged to volunteer. We are happy to involve all age groups in this area provided youths have an adult supervisor working with them.
One more area that is in need of volunteers is transportation. We are looking for responsible adults to assist with directing RV’s, buses, and motor vehicles into the proper parking areas. In addition we are looking for individuals to drive golf carts to aid in moving participants between venues.
