The Strathmore Assembly of Youth (SAY) is proud to present a new monthly column; the Community Spotlight.
SAY is a group of like-minded students from Grades 10, 11, and 12. Our mission is to provide the youth of Strathmore a voice in the community, and to ensure the interests and well-being of Strathmore youth are taken into consideration as the community continues to grow and expand. We do so by taking an active role in the decision making process in the community, by consulting members of the Strathmore Town Council and by getting involved with local businesses and community groups to create activities and opportunities for the youth in the town of Strathmore.
Every month, SAY will be turning the spotlight on a local business and community group, putting out articles in this column. The growth and vibrancy of our town is fueled by local support for community members and business, and the individuals who utilize local services them are their lifeblood. We want to ensure that the people of Strathmore know what kind of services are available to them within the community so that they continue to contribute to our community, and this column is ideal for us to spread the word within the town.
The members of SAY are working together to investigate local groups and businesses who give services to the community, and each month will deliver their findings in this column. One community group/organization and one local business will be in the spotlight, with details and information provided for each.
