Expressions the Dance Gallery is holding their annual showcase performance at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary on June 21.
This year the dance studio printed 500 tickets, and there are less than 100 available.
“We might actually sell out this year which we’re really excited about because that hasn’t happened before,” said Angela Murdoch, a dance teacher at the studio.
The show will feature the newly acquired skills of all of the dancers who range in ages from three-years-old to 20. The show will also let guests see a variety of all styles and genres of dance from tap to ballet, to acrobatic and hip-hop.
“It’s a celebration really about the hard work they have put in, the commitment they have brought to the studio over the 10 month season. It is one big year-end showcase to really celebrate everything that they put into it,” said Murdoch.
“Anyone can come. We sell tickets through our office, so people can call the studio office if they are interested in purchasing tickets, and we can do that over the phone or they can stop by the studio, usually between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. we have someone there.”
A few of the dancers will be leaving the studio, having been taught dance for 12 years by owner Heather Thomas and her teachers.
Murdoch said the show will be a good quality show, with well-trained dancers, high technical caliber, high energy and lots of fun.
“Our goal is to include everybody that loves dance, so we hope that the show can give off that feeling that people when they come they leave loving dance more than they did when the show started,” said Murdoch.
Tickets are $26 and can be purchased at Expressions the Dance Gallery, located south of Hwy #1 in Canal Garden, or by calling the studio at 403-901-6392. The show starts at 4 p.m. on June 21 at the Jubilee.
