Two injured in incident at CNRL plant near Standard

Wheatland County Fire Services responded to an incident at the CNRL plant near Standard in the early morning of Oct. 2.
The incident was reported at approximately 5:38 a.m., with fire crews remaining on scene as the situation was brought under control later in the afternoon.
“As a precaution, an evacuation was initiated for residences within a two-mile radius of the site,” said Wheatland County in a press release. “Two injuries were reported. One individual (was) transported by STARS air ambulance.”
Six fire departments responded to the incident, including Dalum, Rockyford, Standard, Rosebud, Hussar and Calgary.
Wheatland County Administration said further information would be provided as it became available.
