Albert Donat Therrien passed away peacefully after a short battle with Cancer at the age of 87 on April 14, 2026

He is survived by his children Donald, Curtis, Michelle (Dave), Daughter in Law Diane; grandchildren Erica, Tyler, Julian, Sara, Jake, Zach, Nicole, Alex and Samantha; great-grandchildren Owen, Olive and Archer as well as his brothers Tom (Karen), Dennis and many nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by all including his special fur baby Homer which he adored.

Albert was predeceased by his wife Elaine Therrien, son Richard Therrien, sisters Linda Therrien, Beverly McAlpine and parents Donat and Ruby Therrien. 

Albert was born in Ochre River, Manitoba on October 6, 1938, relocating west a few years after marrying Elaine on June 25, 1960. The last 37 years were spent in Strathmore where the majority of his immediate family live. He spent many years working as a sign artist before relocating to Strathmore where he worked as a custodian for Golden Hills School Division until his retirement.  Albert was a proud Metis and shared his knowledge with his children and grandkids. Spending many days representing his culture any way he could.

Albert loved his family and friends, loved to laugh and to make other people laugh.

The Family would like to extend their gratitude to the Strathmore Hospital and the Strathmore Homecare office.

There will be a celebration of life on June 25, 2026, when both Albert and Elaine will be laid to rest in the Strathmore cemetery on their wedding anniversary. Details will follow on a later date.
