Steve Wilde will have a rivalry to settle when he steps into a steel cage Nov. 13, but he is also hoping wrestling fans arrive with something for Nixon Henshaw’s Soup for Soldiers drive.
Real Canadian Wrestling’s Strathamania 3 comes to the Strathmore Ag Pavilion for an evening of wrestling that will double as a collection opportunity for the young local fundraiser’s effort to gather soup for veterans.
Wilde is offering $20 general admission tickets to fans who bring a qualifying soup donation. He is also offering one advance free ticket to anyone who brings a flat of soup to Sammich Sycles, the shop run by Nixon’s father Chris Henshaw.
The partnership gives fans another way to support Nixon while taking in RCW’s final Strathmore show of the year.
Inside the ring, Wilde will face former partner Steven Styles in the evening’s main event. Their feud has been building for some time, and Wilde said the cage match will be the first Strathmore has seen in at least a year.
The matchup headliner will feature former All Elite Wrestling performer Marko Stunt against Mo Jabari along with the returning seven-foot Giant Orion against Raj Singh.
The Rogue Kings will defend the RCW International Tag Team Championship against a mystery team. Other announced matches include Jet Johnson against Krieger and Riley Cruz against Scotty Ace, while Hunter McAdams is set to make his debut.
For those who have never attended a live wrestling show, Wilde summed up the atmosphere in two words: “It’s electric.”
That energy comes from both sides of the ropes. Lights, smoke and sparks are part of the production, while the Strathmore crowd brings a level of enthusiasm Wilde looks forward to each time the promotion returns.
He described the shows as generally family-friendly, with some edgier moments that come with wrestling.
For Wilde, the community’s continued support is especially meaningful as a local wrestler. RCW brings shows to town every couple of months, and he said fans have consistently turned out to support both him and the promotion.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with wrestling starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Strathmore Stampede grounds Ag Pavilion.
General admission is $25 in advance or $35 at the door, while advance youth tickets are $15. Children six and under attend free.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite and in person at Sammich Sycles or TECA Golf Simulators and Sports.
Fans planning to take advantage of the soup donation offer can arrange their advance purchase through Sammich Sycles, helping Nixon’s collection grow before the first bell rings.
