RASMUSSEN, Traci Lynn (Watt)
Rasmussen, Traci Lynn (Watt)
Traci Lynn (Watt) Rasmussen passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at Foothills Hospital following a brave battle with cancer at the age of 63. Traci was born on December 27, 1962, to Jim and Cec (Madsen) Watt, and lived her whole life in the community of Standard.
Traci and Mike Rasmussen were married on November 30, 1985, and she began her married life as a townie farm wife. In 1988 they welcomed their son Kai to the family. A second son, David was born in 1994.
Traci touched so many people’s lives in so many ways, big and small. She was an integral part of many aspects of the Standard community from volunteering behind the scenes for many organizations, as well as serving as Beaver leader and creating the Facebook page, “You Grew Up in Standard.” Traci was also the local Creative Memories, Pampered Chef, and Sunset Gourmet consultant for many years. Traci worked at the Standard Co-op for many years and could still recall your Co-op number. She then moved to Canada Post and served as the rural post office delivery person to Rosebud, Chancellor and Wheatland County for the past 27 years.
Traci is lovingly remembered by her husband Michael and sons Kai and David; her sisters Dawn (Phil) Faubion, Janelle (Rob) Pettifer, and Tara (Adrian) Law; and sister-in-law Laurie (Binning) Watt. Her nieces and nephews were a special part of her life and she leaves behind Tanner Watt, Danika (Kyle) Kalmbach, Lincoln and Emilia Kalmbach, Jennifer Faubion (Greg Zammit), Tessa and Maclan Zammit, Michelle Faubion (Gil Borrome), Marc Faubion, Raeanne (Wyatt) Millar, Cole Pettifer, Jessalyn Pettifer, Bodey Pettifer, Ethan Law and Kegan Law. Traci was predeceased by her brother Sheldon in 2024; mother Cec in 2025; and her dad Jim in 2003.
Donations may be made directly to Memory Lane (cheques payable to the Village of Standard with Memory Lane in the memo, PO Box 249 Standard, AB, T0J 3G0) or the Standard Municipal Library (Box 305, Standard, AB, T0J 3G0).
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Standard Community Hall at 2:00 p.m.
