With sorrow, the family of Ralph Gregory announce his peaceful passing on May 13, 2026, after saying his final goodbyes to family and lifelong friends.

Ralph was the first-born son of Rex and Maggie Gregory. He had 6 sisters and 2 brothers. He married Muriel Sutton on October 21, 1952, and they raised 5 children.

Left to mourn Ralph are his 4 children: Terry-Ann (Ronald), Dan (Sharon), Robert (Lynn), and Brent (Kim), 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Muriel, his son Patrick Michael, grandson James Patrick, granddaughter Jessi Lynn, and two sisters Marilyn Holt and Frances Treacy.

Ralph and Muriel began farming in 1953 north of Chancellor then bought the land west of Standard in 1963. They continued on the farm until 2001 at which time they moved to Strathmore. Ralph returned to the farm each year for seeding and harvest for 7 more years. His life’s work was farming for over 65 years. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona for 17 years, where they golfed and made new friends. Ralph’s other hobbies included hunting, camping, and gymkhana. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Standard Lions Club to name a few. His life was full.

The family would like to thank everyone for their final visits with Dad. And a big thanks to the staff at Sagewood Age Care where Dad spent his last few years. They cared for Dad so well and treated him like one of their own.

A viewing was held at Wheatland Funeral Home (202 Lakeside Boulevard, Strathmore, Alberta, T1P 1A1), Strathmore on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Rockyford, Alberta, at 11:00 am. Interment and lunch to follow.
