Ralph was born on January 16, 1935, in Ontario and was the youngest child in his family with three brothers and two sisters. Growing up on a farm in the country, he was milking cows and hooking up horses to the buggies before his teens.
He grew up quick and was off to make his way in the world at the young age of 17.
He rode the train to Alberta and arrived at Wayne Alberta. There he found jobs cowboying and ranching.
Ralph met Rita and married in 1962. They would have celebrated their 64 Anniversary this May.
Ralph and Rita lived in southern Alberta, working and raising their family, until they moved to Grande Prairie in the late seventies where he started his pipeline career.
Rita and Ralph moved back to southern Alberta in 2019 to be closer to family and have spent these last few years in Calgary.
Throughout the years Ralph had many different jobs, some highlights were cowboy, farmer, rancher, and pipeline worker. Ralph was also an avid hockey fan. Calgary Flames were his team.
Ralph was predeceased by his son Dale Gallinger and son in-law Bill Parish.
Ralph will be missed by his wife Rita and his three daughters. Julie Graff (Wayne) and their sons; Christopher (Kelsey), Alexandria (Izabella), Nicholas (Naomi) and their children; Luke, Norah, and Roman. Karen Pearce and her daughters; Caroline (Daniel), Killian, Aoife, and Rylee. And Norma Gallinger.
Ralph will be missed by his many friends and nieces and nephews across Canada.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Wheatland Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Friends and family are invited for coffee and an afternoon of reminiscing and visiting.
