Election results are in

The results are (unofficially) in for the 2025 municipal elections, with counts stretching into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Official results will be finalized on Oct. 24, allowing time for candidates to request recounts, should they choose to do so.
In the Town of Strathmore, Pat Fule (1,747) was re-elected as mayor in a close race, edging out challenger Jason Hollingsworth (1,716) by just 31 votes.
In the race for town council, incumbent Brent Wiley received 1,998 votes, followed by Matt Hyde (1,505), Claude Brown (1,493), Richard Wegener (1,419), James Chisholm (1,400), and incumbent Melissa Langmaid (1,392).
The remaining council results were Jason Montgomery (1,349), Robert Gray (1,347), Denise Peterson (1,304), Denise Geremia (1,173), Bev Bell (1,037), Dan Wiewel (984), Debbie Mitzner (982), and Trevor Snyder (422).
In Wheatland County, Shannon Laprise was acclaimed in Division 1, while Berle Hebbes received 343 votes to Jason Wilson’s 97 in Division 2.
In Division 3, incumbent Donna Biggar (195) edged out Darlene Davis (170), while in Division 4, Keith Clayton (164) defeated incumbent Thomas Ikert (88). In Division 5, incumbent Scott Klassen (127) surpassed Rodger Brndjar (20), while incumbent Glenn Koester (205) claimed more votes than Tony Watfa (79) and Rex Hardwood (77) in Division 6. Incumbent Rick Lausen (116) received more votes than his competitor Cade Treacy (87) in Division 7.
The new Wheatland County council will internally elect a Reeve and Deputy Reeve during the Council Swearing-In Ceremony on Oct. 24 at noon.
The Golden Hills School Division Board of Trustees will see both Rob Pirie and Jennifer Mertz return to their seats, having been elected over challenger Steve Durrell.
The Village of Standard had yet to post its final election results as of Oct. 21.
