Farthing,Theodor Eaven “Ted” 

June 29, 1928 – January 14, 2024

Mr. Ted Farthing of High River, Alberta passed away at the High River Hospital on January 14, 2024 at the age of 95 years. He is survived by his son Stephen Farthing (Karyn), and daughter Karen Angell (Roger); grandchildren Taylor Farthing (Laura), Tralauney Thomas, Nathan Steele (Katie), Kristy Sidock (Craig), Jaymee Magnuson (Chris), Lindsey Angell (Kyle) and Naomi Angell (Gino). As well as 13 great-grandchildren.

Ted was predeceased by his wife Donna, sister Ruth Dann, and brother James Farthing. He is survived by his brother Albert Farthing.

Ted lived on the Farthing family farm at Trenville, Alberta. As a youngster he trapped, hunted and fished. He left school to apprentice as a mechanic in Elnora. He was working in Strathmore when he met Donna Mackie. They married in Calgary in 1951. Ted enlisted in the RCAF in 1948. He retired 25 years later as Chief Warrant Officer. The next 15 years Ted and Donna enjoyed their acreage in Sherwood Park.

Ted was Manager of Solar Gas Turbines. He began consulting internationally, working in Japan, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia and throughout Western Canada. As owner/operator of Delta Turbines in Carseland,  Ted became a valued member of the community. Ted was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Canadian Legion. He was a leader of the Boy Scouts of Canada and a church choir master.

A Celebration of Ted’s life will be held in Carseland on a date to be determined.
