SMITH, Kathleen Jane

SMITH,Kathleen Jane

Jane Smith, of Strathmore, Alberta, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 following post-surgical complications at 75 years of age.

She was predeceased by her parents, Roland and Margaret Monilaws; brother, Daniel; infant son, Tommy; and son, Derek.

Jane is survived by her husband of 54 years, Del; grandson, Damion; three sisters, Ann (David), Carol, Celia and two brothers, Tom (Pat) and Graem (Chris).

An avid and highly skilled curler all her life, Jane always found time for many other activities and interests, especially her quilting. But most of all, she loved and nurtured her family and large network of friends. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were never ending – and her hugs were fierce and legendary. Once you received one you were a friend for life.

Janie was the epitome of living a life of quiet good and of generosity and service to others. She was, and always will be, deeply loved.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can properly say goodbye to a very special lady.

In lieu of flowers, may we respectfully request tributes in Jane’s name be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
