In the early hours of Saturday, Aug. 15, Strathmore RCMP responded to a single-vehicle incident downtown and found a Strathmore resident dead at the scene.
Strathmore RCMP responded to the incident at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning in the 100 block of Second Ave. in Strathmore, explained Staff Sgt. Dale Morgan. The responding officers found a vehicle had left the roadway, struck a signpost, which had been knocked over and entered the glass window of a business, he said.
The driver, a 59-year-old Strathmore resident, was found dead at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the coroner’s office as a suspected medical emergency. The death of the man is not believed to have resulted from injuries sustained in the incident.
