Town launches business survey

The Town of Strathmore has launched a business retention and expansion survey to help better understand local business priorities, the future needs of local businesses, and how business owners and managers view the community as a place to do business.
The survey was launched in May and is open until the middle of July when the results will be gathered and analyzed to be used to plan future economic development activities focused on the top priorities indicated in the survey.
“With this business survey, Strathmore is taking positive action to identify and meet the needs of the businesses in our community,” said Alexandra Ross, Town of Strathmore’s economic development officer. “This is one of the first steps that will help to create a framework for business retention and expansion, which ultimately will cater to the bigger economic development strategy.”
MDB Insight, a management consulting firm specializing in providing economic development, workforce development and cultural development solutions, has been retained by the town to work with town staff to review the completed surveys. The surveys will help the town learn of the challenges and opportunities local businesses are facing.
The telephone survey will be conducted between May 27 and June 17 and should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Approximately 100 businesses have been randomly selected to take part in the survey and all businesses contacted are encouraged to participate.
However, even if not selected, any business with feedback and ideas is welcome to contact Ross at 403-361-1669 or by email at alexandra.ross@strathmore.ca.
