Eliason, Leona (Giroux)

Leona Eliason (Giroux), born April 7, 1934, passed away September 11, 2019 at the age of 85 after fighting cancer for two long years.
She will be lovingly remembered, and sadly missed, by her son Greg Osborne (Lori), granddaughter Danielle (Thom) Gervais, and two great-grandchildren; Penn, age 7, and Elle, age 3.
She is survived by her two sisters, Noreen (Loren) Stewart, Karen (Terry) Lyons, sister-in-law, Carol (Giroux), and their families.
Leona lived most of her life in Calgary; she moved to Edmonton in her later years to be closer to her son and his family.
Leona was an avid sports fan and also loved to travel. She enjoyed a good laugh and a good glass of wine.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nora and Cliff Giroux, her husband Erik Eliason, sisters Yvonne (Helm), Cleo (Evans) and brother, Brian (Giroux). If friends so desire, donations can be made in Leona’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
At Leona’s request, no memorial service will be held. Cremation in care of Connery McKinley, Edmonton.
