The Strathmore Archery Club is preparing to host their sixth annual 3D Shoot and Memorial on May 26 at the club.
The event, which is open to members of the club and non-members alike, draws participants from all over southern Alberta.
Categories include Bow Hunter, Compound Unlimited and Recurve/Traditional for juniors, ladies and men.
“In the past we have only held the one outdoor 3D shoot each year,” said Strathmore Archery Club secretary Ken Kuenzl. “This year we’ve already held one indoor event and are hoping to do at least three more competitions this year, including the May 26 event.
“We are hoping for a great turnout, and have already received some amazing prizes, and look forward to good weather and good times.”
According to Kuenzl, the club currently has between 130 to 140 members and growing – approximately 50 juniors, 50 men and between 30 and 40 ladies.
Registration for the event begins at 9 a.m., with Round 1 beginning at 10 a.m. Lunch is available (for $5) before Round 2 begins after eating.
The Strathmore Archery Club is located 11 kilometres (km) east of Strathmore on Highway 1 and 3.6 km south on Range Road 240.
The cost is $20 for adult members ($25 for non-members) and $10 for youth ($15 for non-members). Contact Ken Kuenzl at 587-227-2603 for more information.
