GREGORY, Muriel Louise (nee Sutton)
February 11, 1933 – January 15, 2017

Muriel passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 15 just before her 84th birthday. Mom was born in Sceptre, Saskatchewan to Hilda and Stan Sutton and lived in various towns throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. She attended school in Hussar where she met Ralph. They were married on October 21, 1952. They started farming in Chancellor; then purchased land around Standard where they settled until 2001 when they then moved to Strathmore. Muriel was an active member of the Standard community, volunteering for many organizations; eventually achieving a Life-Time membership in the Standard Lionettes. Muriel was predeceased by her parents, brother George Sutton, son Patrick “Mike” Gregory, and granddaughter Jesse Gregory. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ralph; children Terry-Ann Elder (Ronald) , Dan (Sharon), Robert (Lynn) and Brent (Kim);, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sagewood for the special care that Mom received throughout her stay. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Hope Community Covenant Church (Strathmore) at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Muriel’s name directly to “Memory Lane” payable to the Village of Standard (Box 249, Standard, AB, T0J 3G0).
