The Strathmore Musical Arts Society is presenting double Juno award-winning Canadian blues guitarist Jack de Keyzer on Nov. 5 at the Travelodge in Strathmore as part of a short Alberta tour which will also cover Edmonton, Strathmore and Calgary.
Linda Storkson, president of the Strathmore Musical Arts Society, said, “It’s going to be an awesome night of music,” and “If you’re a music lover you’ll love it.”
de Keyzer characterized his singing style as, “rock and rhythm and blues with a sometimes jazzy twist.”
The singer is a well sought after Canadian performer who has released nine CDs and has also played on different recordings and live sessions with artists such as Etta James, Ronnie Hawkins, Bo Diddley and Blue Rodeo.
“He’s an awesome entertainer,” said Storkson.
The singer will perform two 60-minute shows from the nine CDs he’s released. He will also be doing some classic R&B and blues songs mixed in.
Becca and the Boys are opening act and an Edmonton band will join de Keyzer on stage; musicians include David Babcock on the saxophone, B3 organ impresario Bruce Mohacsy, and Bill Hobson on the drums.
Tickets are $50 and include a three course meal. They can be purchased online or at one of four outlets: Marlin Travel, Assist Business Centre, Pro Water Systems and Chinook Financial.
Cocktails will be at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m.
