The 2015 Strathmore Lacrosse season is right around the corner and players can register online now at www.strathmorelacrosse.com President Chris Iversen is very optimistic it will be another very good season. “Because of the growth we’ve had over the last couple of seasons, in order to make lacrosse more accessible to young players, we have reduced the registration fees for Mini Tyke and Tyke,” said Iversen. “We are pleased to be offering a Lacrosse Boot Camp for bantam, midget and junior players in the weeks prior to the start of the season. For a small fee, they participate in a cross training camp in order to get into shape for the upcoming season.” The goal for registration is to have more players enrolled in the sport and create a fun environment for the kids. “The more players we have (will result in) more teams, and more interest, which translates to greater player development and fun. We would also like to recruit more girls to enhance our girls’ program,” said Iversen. Registration fees for Mini Tykes are $150, tyke is $250 and novice is $335. When you get to the higher levels such as peewee it will be $385, bantam is $405 and midget is $415. Deadline will be March 8. After that there will be a $50 late registration fee and players will only be accepted if there is room on a team. If you’re interested in playing winter lacrosse and you are already signed up for 2015 season, sessions run every Saturday at the Trinity Christian Academy and schedules can be checked out on the website. Iversen can be reached at president@strathmorelacrosse.com for any questions or inquires.
