Strathmore RCMP attended a serious four-vehicle collision near Chestermere on July 24, that claimed the lives of two, including a two-month-old child.
An investigation continues into the crash that involved four eastbound-travelling vehicles on HWY 1 and Range Road 285 at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
While the male drivers and lone occupants of a Chevrolet panel van and a truck with a fifth wheel attached sustained no injuries, a male driver of a Nissan Frontier suffered from minor injuries. He has since been released from the hospital.
However, a female passenger travelling with her two-month-old child, the father of the child, and a family member was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver was uninjured, while the infant and the third adult male passenger were transported to the nearest hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The infant has since succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and RCMP are asking all witnesses to immediately call the Strathmore RCMP at 403-934-3968, their local police service, or Crime Stoppers.
