The CFR Bisons were in top form at home against the Lethbridge Hurricanes as they were able to find a groove and run with it en route to a 6-1 win on Dec. 19.
“We started off with the boys getting a few good bounces and pucks [that] just started going in,” said rookie forward Tyson Scott. “The momentum carried on through the second period and one went in after another. We let off a little bit. But as a team we found our way back playing better as a whole.”
Scott added that they were able to take advantage of the room and were able to spread the puck out well enough, especially on the power play.
“The power play was working good for us tonight,” he said. “I think we had two on the power play which was good. A lot of teams are not used to the size and the conditioning as well. I know we work out and were able to take advantage of them that way.”
Gary Haden led the way with two goals, while Scott, Zach Vinnell, Kaden Hanas, and Jackson Salt each tallied one in the win.
The team was defeated by the Calgary Northstars on Sunday afternoon 4-3.
Haden, Tanner Foster and Cam Shorrock scored in the road loss.
The Bisons will resume league play on Jan. 3 when they host the Knights of Columbus Pats at 2 p.m.
