New Strathmore Community Football Association (SCFA) senior bench boss, Chuck Holloway, wants to get the program back on track and that starts with the team’s first win in nearly four years.
Holloway hails from the United States and played college ball at the University of West Alabama. He has also coached football for 15 years.
“My overall expectation is that I want to get them their first win and try to make more cohesion and team unity,” said Holloway.
“I am trying to get more kids out and more dedication, if I can do that then I can change the culture, program and team success.”
In the registration camp Holloway is expecting the more experienced and successful players will help to improve the team’s success this season.
“Overall the group of players that are actually coming up were in the bantam program and they won a lot of provincials,” said Holloway.
“The younger guys that are coming up are being heavily recruited. My son, the quarterback, is getting recruited by Princeton and other guys such as Chevy Winnipeg are being recruited as well.”
If Holloway can get players to show commitment and come out from the school then there will be an exciting brand of football.
The senior Spartans will begin their season on Sept. 5 against Medicine Hat High School in Medicine Hat.
