Since opening their doors in 2012, the Hope Bridges Society has strived to offer fun and creative programming for adults in the community. Keeping that philosophy in mind, they are bringing old favourites back – knitting/crocheting and quilting bees.
“The workshop is Knitting Crocheting Folk Art started on Dec. 3. The goals is for it to be a community that meets bi-weekly in Strathmore, and as regularly as possible in Rockyford,” said Hope Bridges Coordinator Wanda Reinholdt.
Transportation assistance is available for anyone who wishes to attend but isn’t sure how they could. The program will be facilitated by Meaghan Nystrom, and is available for adults of all levels.
“Bring your own project or come without a project,” said Reinholdt.
“Supplies are available for anyone needing them, including a ball of yarn.”
Knitting Crocheting Folk Art will be held at the Hope Bridges studio every Wednesday from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. It will also be held at the Rockyford Library starting Jan. 22 during the same time frame.
Pre-registering is requested to ensure that there are enough supplies available for everyone; to do so call 403-983-3640. The session includes snacks and two hours of connection and guidance, and if you purchase three or more sessions then they are only $15 per session.
