The Youth Club of Strathmore has combined some of their more popular programs and is offering them to rural communities. Club Works is a four-week program, offered one night a week for four consecutive weeks in communities surrounding Strathmore.
Kids in the outlying communities will get a chance to participate in Mad Science, Chef, Extreme Kids and Creative Station.
“Each night of the session will consist of an experiment, a recreational activity, a chef creation and a craft if time permits. The Chef creation has been designed to be an entree as the class runs over the dinner hour, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.,” said Program Coordinator Colina Clark. “It is important to us to serve all of our community. Wheatland County provided funding for this initiative to assist the Youth Club in bringing the program to the communities. If there is a continued interest, we will look at continuing the program beyond the funding.”
Club Works began in Lyalta in June, and will be moving to Standard starting Sept. 9. Hussar, Gleichen/Cluny, Rockyford and Carseland are expected to follow.
The fee is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Memberships are available for $20/yr per youth or $50/yr for a family of three or more and are valid until August 31 each year.
The Youth Club of Strathmore will be at REVS on Sept. 5. Anyone interested in learning more will be able to do so there.
