Tim’s Angels

Recently the new phenomenon that has been taking place in Tim Hortons in Calgary and Edmonton has occurred in Strathmore. Some giving souls decided to pay it forward, but not just for the person behind them which is the usual courtesy. Last week a woman drove through the Tim Hortons located next to the Strathmore Shell Station and said she wanted to pay for $200 worth of coffee. The Tim Hortons employee who took her order, Daisy Alatan, was shocked at what she heard and suggested an efficient idea.
“She asked if she could buy $200 worth of coffee and I asked her to buy a $200 gift card so we would just swipe while they went through with all the cars” said Alatan.
This trend has occurred all across Canada at local Tim Hortons and now it has come to Strathmore. Manager Chris Nagrampa commented, saying that the lady, who is a regular at that Tim Hortons, addressed the employee’s shock by saying, “Am I the first one (to pay it forward)?,” and Nagrampa responded that she was.
This act of kindness certainly spread happiness to the future customers waiting in the long drive-thru line.
“They were so shocked,” said Nagrampa.
The $200 dollars given supplied each car with one free coffee, and it took approximately half the day to max out the card.
This event seemed to have spawned something special at this Tim Hortons, as there was another donation shortly after
“Friday (August 2) a guy gave a hundred dollars, to a total of $300 already for this store” said Nagrampa.
“It’s kind of amazing right, just one customer giving to a lot of people.”
This act of giving certainly warms the hearts of the people who received their free coffees, as well as spreading the act of giving throughout the community. Next time you’re at Tim Hortons make sure to watch out for the Tim’s Angels, or maybe become one yourself.
