Strathmore Theatre Players is looking for comedic actors and behind the scenes people to help make this year’s production of Lend Me A Tenor a success.
The play is a comedy farce of mistaken identity, set in the 1930s. There are four male roles and three female roles available.
Auditions will be held in the Aztec rehearsal space on Oct. 22-23. The actors will be required to do a cold read from the script.
Strathmore Theatre Players have been in existence since the 1960s, although it has gone through many changes. Most recently, they have become members of the Strathmore Arts Society. Co-chairs Angela Reeves and Tashina Hanrath said they would love to see a Centre for the Arts built in Strathmore, a place that they could call home.
The theatre group meets on a regular basis in their current rehearsal space in the Aztec building to do play readings. The group goes over scripts together and decides what they might be interested in bringing to the stage. They have a few plays picked out they are hoping to perform at the Regional One Act Play Festival this coming year. The group said they would also like to bring back Shakespeare in the Park in the near future.
Lend Me A Tenor will run March 5-15, 2014.
