The first of four CD release parties was held for rising Country Music Artist Drew Gregory. It was a packed house at Standard’s new community hall on Friday evening.
The new album includes his current radio hit “Truck, Beer, Girl”. The other release parties were held on June 4 at the Ranchman’s in Calgary, June 5 at Fandango’s in Edmonton and the last at Billy Bob’s on June 7, in Red Deer. Gregory says that they are trying to get the word out and across the province and he has some fantastic opening acts and hosts for each place. Standard was fortunate enough to hear Wildflower, an Alberta-based country acoustic duo (www.wildflower-music.ca), with Jennie Clark and Dean Selby.
Although the newest album is influenced mostly by his Southern Alberta heritage, Gregory is hoping to expand his music into Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario, continuing his career momentum in the country music industry.
From the release party in Standard, Gregory said, “I can not thank everyone enough who came out to the CD release show in Standard. The town and this County has given me some amazing support from the start and I am very grateful.”
