Langdon Days praise

Langdon Days had another successful year this past weekend, with events from July 19 – 21 packing the streets – so much so, that certain parade floats had trouble getting by all the people.
“It was more people than anybody has remembered in five years. It was absolutely packed. It was awesome. We were just all taken by surprise,” said Chrissy Craig, one of the event coordinators.
The pancake breakfast became so popular they nearly couldn’t meet the demand: “It was lined up for forever, we almost sold out – but we didn’t. We had enough pancakes for the last people walking through, but it went right until while the parade was going because there were so many people,” Craig said.
Yet another sold out event was The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love tribute on Saturday night; Friday night’s entertainment of Jason Hastie and High Steppin Daddy didn’t sell out, but still had a crowd of 500 people.
Five Calgary food trucks were also large hits with the crowd, along with the opportunity to roll around like a hamster on water.
“The water balls really stood out for a lot of people at the Children’s Festival,” said Craig. “They were a huge hit.”
The finale of the weekend was the Show and Shine put on by the AMCA Group.
“A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, because without them, we couldn’t have made this happen,” Craig said.
All funds raised will go to the Langdon Community Association. Meetings have already begun for next year.
