At 3:30 a.m. on June 5, robbers stole a truck in Langdon and drove to Carseland, where they used the vehicle to smash through the front door of the Carseland liquor store.
Owner Sam Pyo said he saw the incident on the news, prior to opening shop the next morning. He has been a business owner in Carseland for over 15 years.
Pyo said he felt so bad for the person who owned the truck.
“It’s just sickening,” said Pyo.
The thieves took ten bottles of vodka and the float that was in the till. He said that he has insurance that will cover the damages, but he will be out the $1,000 deductible. He expects repairs will take several weeks to complete, but he is keeping the store open for business. Pyo said residents told him they heard two vehicles racing shortly before the break-in and reported one man wearing a mask. The vehicle was abandoned east of Carseland on  the highway.
Residents from Carseland called the RCMP and said they responded by 5:30 a.m. RCMP requested a statement from Pyo and they are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information on the break-in can call Strathmore RCMP at 403 934-3968.
