Pat Dale-Dunderdale began life in London, England on May 20, 1948. It was there that she met Peter, the love of her life, who became her partner for 50 years and her husband for over 40 of them. Together they raised three children – Eddie, Joe and Jim. The Dunderdales have always been a fun-loving bunch, owning numerous pubs in England before coming to Canada.
On the morning of Oct. 18 Pat passed quietly in her home. She had been a 10-year member of the Legion, a mother, grandmother and staple of the community.
“What a shocker it was to hear of Pat’s death.  She was a very kind lady. She was a 10-year member of our branch, and always volunteered to lend a hand.  She always said she couldn’t do much of the legwork, but, ‘give me something I can give a hand with in regards to anything else, and I will do my best.’ Her latest project was to help the Legion in getting new lighting fixtures for the main hall. She loved her family very much. Her smiling face will be missed,” said Legion President Jenny Schumann.
Pat could be seen around town on her scooter, helping out at the Legion, the Harleys and Hotrods poker run and even at Heritage Days. She was a YouTube addict, and could never get enough.
Pat will be remembered as a fun, life-of-the-party kind of gal and will be missed by everyone. She loved to bargain hunt at garage sales, and was an antique enthusiast. Spending time with her grandsons, Aaron and Bowen, and her family was one of the things she treasured most.
She always stuck by her kids, even when they were being a pain, and loved them, something her boys will never forget.
“Mums light, mums essence, will always be apart of my life. She was a great mum, the best and I’m thinking right now, there won’t be a day in my life I won’t miss her. I do wish I could of made her life a happier one,” said Joe.
Pat is survived by her husband Peter, her three sons Eddie, Joe and Jim, their wives Erin and Andrea and her two grandsons Aaron and Bowen.
A memorial service has yet to be planned, though details will be posted at the Legion when they are known.
Jim’s words: “have you hooked up wive (with) everybody up there, give them all our regards and have you found a good place that as good wine boxes and by the way there 5 1/2 bottle in them they haven’t made them smaller. Love you, missing you.”
