It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Gail Coombs (nee Ward) at the Agape Hospice, Calgary, after a prolonged battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease (A.L.S.). Gail is survived by her loving husband Greg; her dog Boots; Greg’s children Kim (Rod), Shauna (Kerry) and Ashley (Neil); mother-in-law Kaye; grandchildren Stephanie, Stephen, Erica, Justine, Seth and Blake; Gail’s siblings Ken (Darlene), Linda (Ian), Arlene Wiebe, and sister-in-law Gayle Ward; and Greg’s siblings Kathy (Joe), Margo (Kei) and Glenda. Gail is also survived by Auntie Eileen Wallace and Uncle Don Westlund, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gail was a loving, caring and dedicated wife, sister, daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother, auntie, niece and friend. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Agape Hospice for the continuous love and care during Gail’s time there. The family would also like to thank the ALS Society for their support, with special thanks to Jane Rivest.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Strathmore United Church at 11:00 a.m.   In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made directly to the A.L.S.
