The regular meeting at the Wheatland county council offices was kept short on Dec. 21 with many getting ready to close shop for Christmas. A few issues brought forth in previous meetings were presented to council with new information added.

Curve sign
Public works replaced the curve sign on Duck Lake Road that had been knocked down a few weeks prior.
Vehicle recycling
At the Dec. 7 meeting there was discussion and a request to investigate vehicle-recycling options for ratepayers. Part of the discussion included the possibility of incorporating vehicle pick-up/recycling as a part of, hamlet clean-up days. Public works will be looking further into the subject and contacting vehicle pick up organizations for more information.

Renaming
A request to rename 5 Ave. Gleichen was brought before council. The request had been before council at the beginning of November and on Dec. 21 there was a resolution made. 5 Ave. Gleichen will now be known as Wickson Avenue.

Security
Siemens demonstrated to councillors how to use the entry code security system at the back door. There are times when a regular meeting may run after hours and Siemens wanted to make sure all of council know how to properly set the alarm.
