Strathmore Library – Jump into January

The Strathmore Municipal Library is hosting “Jump into January” holiday break programing from Jan. 3-6 for kids who are looking to spend their week playing games and having fun.
On Jan. 3, drop in from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Get Your Game On. Kids will enjoy playing a variety of cool games including giant snakes and ladders, and checkers.
On Jan. 4, kids can enjoy a day of theatre games such as working on teamwork, improvisation and building stage confidence. Registration is free, at strathmorelibrary.ca/theatreday. Programming for 6-9 year olds runs from 1-2:30 p.m. Ages 10 and up can work on their theatre skills from 3:30-5 p.m. Kids can also work on their theatre skills by playing with puppets and creating their own performances, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
On Jan. 5, attend Library Makeshop from 12-4 p.m.: turn a banana into a piano, build robots with Little Bits, build a giant Lego city, or use the craft supplies provided to make a unique toy.
Jan. 6 is Friday Fun Film day 1-3 p.m., showing The Secret Life of Pets. There will be drinks and popcorn from the new popcorn machine donated by Chinook Financial. At the end of the film there will be a draw for one participant to take a copy of the movie home with them.
Additional January programming: on Jan. 9 is Baby Goose Rhyme Time, running every Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
