Strathmore’s character shines again, as the community stepped up for a family facing a traumatic event in their life.
Don Derraugh was facing a financial burden when his daughter Tarynn was critically injured in a car accident. In order for Tarynn to recover, doctors said she would need 24/7 care during her rehabilitation.
As a single father, Derraugh had to make the important and caring decision to quit work and tend to his daughter’s needs.
“I would hate that to happen to my daughter and I would not want to be in his position,” said Tracie Anhorn, one of the organizers for the event.
Members of Hope Community Covenant staged a music benefit and silent auction to assist the Derraugh family with their financial needs.
Four musical acts donated their time and talent on Aug. 28 for the fundraiser held at Hope Community Covenant church. The musicians included Charlie Bailey, Lana and Keith Floen (Sidekicks), Bekah and the Boys, and Travis Friesen from Rosebud.
There were many people in attendance to enjoy the music and share their faith and support with the family.
Those who were not able to attend can still donate by accessing the GoFundMe page, and searching for Tarynn’s Road to Recovery. Donations can also be made by contacting Tracie Anhorn at 403-630-1510.
