It has been a good summer
Andrea Roberts
Times Intern
As summer draws to a close, so does my final week at the Strathmore Times. I have spent the last four months here as the Times intern and I have had a blast. I have learned a great deal over the past few months and have met many interesting people with a story to tell.
This year I have done some fun things for my articles, such as overcoming my fear of birds by holding a parrot or getting absolutely drenched during the Strathmore Stampede.
I will return to Mount Royal University for my fourth and hopefully final year in Journalism. I will be helping to edit and run the Calgary Journal. Then once this year is completed and I graduate, the world will be my oyster.
While I am still unsure of what I would like to do in the future, I do know my time here at the Times, both this year and last, has taught me a great deal about being a good journalist as well as how to be an asset in the workforce.
I want to thank everyone who has helped me along during this journey, especially my wonderful colleagues here at the paper. They are all such hard-working and friendly individuals and I couldn’t have made it through this summer without their help.
