The Junior B Venom Tier II team took on the Lethbridge Cudas at the Strathmore Family Centre for their fifth game of the season. The Venom fell behind early but fought back to tie it up later on in the game. They went on to win in overtime with a score of 8-7 with number 66, Paul Block scoring the winning goal.
“[They] put together a very solid game, our best game to date,” said coach Lucas Bobbit.
“They came out firing on offensive and came out firing on defense and managed to pull out a win.”
Bobbit explained this was a big win for the team – it was the first time they had beaten Lethbridge in this league as that team is usually a contender for the championship. The coach went on to say that the excellent goaltending of number 00 Reilly Burkholder helped them to secure the win.
The next game will be held on May 6 at the Family Centre.
