Snyder, Mervyn (Merv) Gerald

Mervyn (Merv) Gerald Snyder, passed during his stay at the Strathmore Hospital, on Monday, August 31, 2015, after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Merv was born April 8, 1946 in Edmonton, Alberta, and was adopted by Eleanor and Alfred Snyder of Didsbury, Alberta. Merv had many treasured memories of his childhood being raised as a Snyder. As a young man he served in the Canadian Navy and later as a firefighter for the City of Calgary, among other opportunities to live and learn what life had to offer. Merv’s love of life took him down many colorful roads and his final dream of owning his own plumbing business and store – Snyder’s Plumbing Service and The Plumbing Design Store. Due to poor health and difficulties in life he left work in 2009 and finally resided with his life partner Sina Hendrickson on a farm site north of Strathmore. Merv proudly built a greenhouse & cold cellar, and enjoyed helping Sina tend to their farm animals & his treasured household pets.
Survivors include his life partner, Sina Hendrickson. His son Sean Snyder (Sandra), grandsons Jeremy & Logan. Extended family Alanna (Gord) Morphet, granddaughter Lilly Ann, & grandson Edwin. Eric (Brittany) Martin, grandson Wyatt and granddaughter Maci. His daughter Corina (Chantel) Snyder Sharma, (Nishant), grandson Maverick.
