A long held belief there would only be two polling stations to vote in the Conservative Party candidate for the new Bow River riding was shattered last week with the announcement the national party begrudgingly is allowing four voting stations for the large riding. The newly drawn Medicine Hat riding will have five.
Conservative Electoral District Association President Stirling Fox announced last week Bow River riding conservatives would be able to vote for candidate selection beginning Sept. 18 from 4-8 p.m. in the Travelodge at Strathmore; Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion in Vulcan; Sept. 19 from 5-9 p.m. at the Heritage Inn at Taber and Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Heritage Inn at Brooks.
Arguably a polling station should have been established in Chestermere owing to its population size.
“Obviously the more stations we have, the better it is,” said Fox.
All candidates’ forums were held Sept. 9 at the Travelodge in Strathmore and Sept. 11 at the Heritage Inn at Brooks.
