Joanne Madeleine Garneau-Wong, known affectionately to friends and family as Jo, passed away on November 28, 2024, at the Foothills Hospital. Born on March 26, 1958, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Joanne’s life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and kindness that touched everyone she knew.

As an employee of the Royal Bank, Joanne was more than just a member of the workforce; she was a friend, a confidante, and a beacon of support to her colleagues.

Beyond her professional life, Joanne’s passions were manifold. A great lover of animals, she found joy in the companionship of her pets.

But it was her role as a grandmother that brought Joanne the most profound happiness. She took immense delight in her grandchildren, Emerson, Hayes, Leo, and Onna, whose visits would light up her world. Joanne’s love for them was boundless, and she poured her creativity into crafting memorable experiences and imparting the values of kindness and love that she held so dear.
