Sharing the spirit of Christmas

Christmas is almost upon us which, means over the next few weeks there will be no shortage of concerts to get your fill of the joyous, fast approaching holiday. The festivities began with a band performance at Crowther memorial on Dec. 4. 
Next up is Westmount Elementary who will be holding their concert for grades K2, K3, 1A, 1B, 2A, 3A, 3B, 3C and all Grade 6’s  on Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.  
Strathmore High School Band Concert is set to be held on the same night at 7 p.m.  
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., Westmount will be holding their second performance for parents of students in  grades K1, 1C, 2B, 2C, 4A, 4B, 4C, and all Grade 5’s. 
Sacred Heart Division one will be celebrating the holiday with The Mystery of Simon Shepard, held on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Holy Cross gym. 
Division two and their rendition of Once upon a Starry Night will be held Dec.13 at 7 p.m., also in the Holy Cross Gym.  
On Dec. 15 the Strathmore Children’s Choir will host their annual Christmas concert at the Hope Community Covenant Church. Admission will be $2 per person or $5 a family at the door. 
On Dec. 16 at the Bow River Alliance Church beginning at 10:30 a.m. there will be a children’s choir presentation. 
Holy Cross will hold their annual Fine Arts night on Dec. 17 beginning at 6 p.m. and will be chock full of entertainment.  The students will be showing off their artistic sides to start the night off in the gallery viewing, and then will continue on with performances by the Glee Club, band, African drumming as well as the Drama Club’s presentation of the Little Match Girl.  
Trinity Christian Academy is sure to enchant you with Dude You Hear What I Hear on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m., and wrapping up the school festivities will be Brentwood’s always fun filled Christmas Concert on Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The students are always eager to show off their talents for the community, so be sure to mark it on your calendars.
There will be Christmas carolling at the Civic Centre on Dec. 20 for anyone who would enjoy an evening of live carollers, and finally on Dec. 23 there will be a Christmas Celebration at 10:30 a.m. at the Strathmore Full Gospel Church. Christmas Eve service can be found at all churches within the community on Dec. 24. There will also be a Christmas dinner offered at the Lord of All Lutheran Church on Dec. 25 for those would like to adopt a family to spend the evening with.
