LOCHHEAD,Elaine

September 14, 1935-May 12, 2024

Elaine Lochhead passed away on May 12, 2024, at the Strathmore Hospital, at the age of 88 with family by her side.  She is lovingly remembered by her three sons Greg (Brenda), Ray (Ricki), and Ken (Candace), and her grandchildren Austin (Rolene), Kayla (Zach), Connor, Amaris and Ivan, and Ariel, and great-grandchildren Josh and Brenna, and Laila and Lennox the ‘goober’.  She was predeceased by her husband Lorne, mother Emma, father Raoul, and brothers Francis, Philippe, Roland and Maurice. 

Elaine was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba and lived in Winnipeg in her earlier years.  In 1961 Elaine married the love of her life Lorne and they raised 3 sons.  In 1973, Lorne was promoted and transferred the family to Calgary and after a few years they sought a quieter place to raise their kids so moved to Strathmore in 1978.  Elaine and Lorne did spend a few years living in Campbell River, BC but made their way back to Strathmore where they spent the rest of their lives.  Elaine loved to camp and fish with Lorne and she bragged about catching the bigger fish.  After Lorne’s passing in 2011, Elaine eventually found her way to the Wheatland Lodge in 2021 where she made a number of very close friends and couldn’t say enough good things about the staff at the Lodge.  They truly made mom’s last few years very enjoyable.

At Elaine’s request, no funeral services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
