Irene Mae Patterson passed away peacefully at the Sage Hill Senior’s Community in Calgary, Alberta on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Irene was born in Prelate, Saskatchewan on May 15, 1937.  The family eventually moved to Alberta where she met Frank, her husband and life partner for 68 years.  They moved to the family farm in Rosebud and raised 3 children there.  Frank and Irene farmed in the Rosebud area until their move to Strathmore Lodge in 2018.  After Frank passed in March of 2022, Irene remained at the Lodge until her interim move to Dream Acres where she received exceptional care and friendship from Sharon and Dennis.  Irene moved to Sage Hill Senior’s Community in May, 2023 and resided there until her passing. 

Irene is survived by her daughters Cindy (Ward) and Jane (Garry); and her sister, Vi Legge.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jim (Marge) and sisters-in-law Betty and Shirley.  Irene was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her son, Thomas; brothers John and Don Hazelton; and sisters-in-law Marie, Rose, Blanche and Faye; as well as brothers-in-law Harold, Joe, George and David. 

At Irene’s request, a private urn placement ceremony will be held. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to The Canadian Legion (https://www.legion.ca). Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family, via the website: www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
