Shields responds to Fall Economic Statement

By From the office of Martin Shields

Martin Shields, Member of Parliament for Bow River released the following statement on the 2022 Fall Economic Statement:

“Canadians have grown tired of this government and the policies that have left families with less money for their children’s futures.

“With today’s fall economic statement, the NDP-Liberal costly coalition is choosing to continue its spending spree, fueling the inflationary and cost-of-living crisis – or risk the NDP-Liberal spend-and-support deal that’s on thin-ice and force an election.

“The government is continuing its damaging high tax, high spend policies of which Conservatives have asked to not impose any new taxes, scrap the carbon tax, and find a dollar saved for every dollar spent to help Canadians, but the government has refused.

“In the meantime, Conservatives will continue to hold the government to account on endless spending and propose common sense solutions to make life more affordable.

“Should the Prime Minister want an election, Conservatives are ready.”
