COLLARD, JOHN CHARLES ‘Johnny’ of Strathmore Alberta passed away August 7, 2022 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.

Johnny was born September 29, 1957 in Edmonton Alberta, and was considered a miracle baby as he was just a 2.5lb. preemie.  

Johnny was a passionate and caring individual that showed in his 40 plus years of service in the hospitality industry. After graduating from SAIT, John worked throughout the Calgary area. His talent as a chef took him through many kitchens including The Calgary Petroleum Club and Cannery Row. His last calling was at The Station in Strathmore were he catered numerous private weddings and parties.

Johnny was very generous to many charities that he supported. Of special note, as a kidney transplant survivor, was The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

His passion for taking care of others extended to his love of his dogs, suffice to say they were a big part of his family!

Johnny was pre-deceased by his father and mother, and long-time companion Rod Danhauer, and his ‘kids’ – dogs Buddy and Brandy.

Johnny is survived by his brothers and sisters, Grant, Kandis, Beverly, Holly, Diana and Michael, many nieces and nephews and an untold number of friends.

Johnny’s family would like to thank all for their thoughts and prayers.
