Brown,Leslie Reginald

October 7, 1956 – October 30, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Les Brown on October 30, 2021 at the age of 65.

At the time of his passing, Les lived in High River, AB but was a long-time resident of Strathmore, AB. He worked with Encana in Strathmore for over 20 years until 2013, when he and his wife Lyne relocated to High River. He went on to work with Eagle Pump and Compressor, retiring in 2016.

Les was always ready to help family and friends with whatever project they had going on at the time and he was a dedicated volunteer. While his son was growing up, he coached T-ball, baseball, and hockey and loved taking his family on trips to BC to camp and fish and spend time with friends. It brought Les great pride and joy as he watched his son grow into a young man, get married and settle in his own home. Les was a member of the Strathmore Poker Run for several years, raising donations for the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta and he made many long-lasting friendships with the other members. Spending time with his buddies playing darts and poker was one of his favourite things to do.

Les was a loving and devoted husband, a proud and caring dad, a protective brother and brother-in-law, a fond uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, a great friend to many and a lifetime buddy to a special few.

He will be forever missed by his wife Lyne and his son and daughter-in-law, Sonny (Leslie) and Shelby Brown. His sister Bev and brother-in-law Charlie Lott (Strathmore, AB); brother Lloyd Brown (Dawson Creek, BC); sister Brenda Gaehring (Fort St. John, BC); half-brother Jamie Peacock (Whitehorse, YT); half-sister Jacquie Peacock (Whitehorse, YT); his Uncle George and Aunt Pat Ellwood (Terrace, BC); Aunt Dennette Wentzell (Joffre, AB); as well as his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Les was predeceased by his parents, Dennis in 2000, Jewel in 2016, and nephews, Robert Brown in 1987 and Christopher Lott in 1994.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their support and love during this difficult time. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and medical teams at the High River and Rockyview Hospital for the care they gave Les and the compassion shown to his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Les at a later time.
