Farmers’ Market opens June 11

The Strathmore Farmers Market is gearing up to transition into its summer market for the season and is putting an emphasis on personal safety for attendees.
Though the province is beginning to reopen, the market is reminding patrons to continue practising social distancing, as well as adherence to all Alberta Health Services COVID-19 rules and mandates. All attendees must wear masks while attending the market.
The summer market opens for the season on June 11 at Kinsmen Park – hours are 3 to 6:30 p.m.
As is standard for the market, approved vendors must have grown, produced, crafted, baked or otherwise created their products in Alberta, made by an immediate family member or staff.
The exception being up to 20 per cent of the market’s sales being generated by out-of-province product. An example of such listed on the market’s website being B.C peaches and cherries.
The market itself is a not-for-profit organization which was established in 1997. The team advertises the organization is run by a volunteer board of directors who maintain regular operations.
According to market operators, there is still room to register as a vendor for the market; an application form is available to fill out through the market website.
