Town seeking new CAO
By Sean Feagan, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter
The Town of Strathmore has begun a search for a new, permanent chief administrative officer (CAO).
The search for candidates is expected to take about three months and will cost $45,000.
Doug Lagore has served as town CAO since February 2021, when previous CAO James Thackery stopped working in the position.
A committee of members of town council reviewed several proposals by talent recruitment firms to help steer the process. During a special meeting of town council held on March 29, council directed administration to hire Boyden Canada, a leadership and talent advisory firm, to help find candidates for the position.
The contract with Boyden will cost the town $45,000. These funds were already included in the town’s 2021 budget.
