Town breaks ground on new office

On Sept. 6 the, Town of Strathmore along with PCL Construction, partners and friends, celebrated the groundbreaking for the new municipal building.
According to a town news release, the new space will strengthen downtown connectivity and create a one-stop shop for municipal services while enhancing
Kinsmen Park.
In the meantime, construction plans continue for the new municipal building.
The goal with the new municipal building is to work alongside Kinsmen Park to enhance the features of the park, incorporating features not currently available, and at the same time providing services to residents and businesses.
“Kinsmen Park will remain an integral and vital place in the community,” stated the news release. “The new building will not take away from parking in the area.”
Funding for the project is a combination of Municipal Sustainability Initiative funds and borrowing that was approved as part of the 2017 capital budget.
More details about the municipal building will be available in the coming months.
