Siksika Nation man charged with hit-and-run death

Justin Lee Cutter, 25, of Siksika Nation, has been charged in the death of Mariam Raweater, also of Siksika Nation, in a hit-and-run that occurred in November 2017.
Raweater was struck by a vehicle on Highway 901 on Nov. 28, 2017. The Investigation revealed that Raweater (52) was walking on the highway when she was struck by a vehicle and killed. The vehicle fled the scene and was later located abandoned on the Siksika Nation.
On March 29, 2019, investigators were able to identify the driver of the suspect vehicle as Cutter. He has been charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing death. He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Siksika Provincial Court on April 18, 2019.
